Crafternoon Tea

Great news, we have our next group of Crafternoon Tea session all planned for you and are ready to be booked. In this series we will be using inspiration from the lovely display ‘Tradition and Innovation’ here at Whitworth Art Gallery.  So heres some information on what’s coming up…

All sessions are 1pm – 3pm, £5.

Wednesdays...

Wednesday 20th March – Caroline Coates

Caroline will be running a session on Needle felting. Doesn’t matter if your a beginner Caroline will show the way into needle felting.

Wednesday 17th April –  Jane Dennerly

Jane we be taking us into the world of Silk Cuff making. She will teach us how to make a lovely silk cuffs  or bracelets using fabric manipulation techniques.

Wednesday 15th May – Kathryn Edwards

Kathryn we be running this session and teaching us some lovely crafty techniques.

Saturdays…

Saturday 23rd March – Alicia Gledhill

Alicia will be running a sessions on 3D hand embrodiery. Showing you how to get some truly 3D work with an innovative technique.

Saturday 13th April – Andrea Lord

Andrea will be leading a session called Embroider Doodle. This is a workshop on freestyle doodle drawings and the exploration of embroidery stitches to add texture & colour to create some beautiful pieces of work.

Sat 18th May – Stewart Kelly

Stewarts workshop encourages us to explore traditional quilting techniques in a contemporary context. We will utilise the textiles on display as inspiration to create an individual design. We will then explore ‘Kantha’ quilting techniques in order to translate their design into textiles.
